Knower of Many Treasure Things

A treasure found in my husband’s unique, library collection…

…lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matthew 28:20b

Shipwrecks, dense jungles, hostile cannibalistic natives, snakes, and tigers, these were just some of the features faced by dedicated Christians of the 19th century who took Christ’s command, to go into all the world and preach the gospel, seriously.   This book is a compilation of heroic short stories of unknown men and women who went out in the spirit of David Livingston and Hudson Tylor to reach people who were unreached over the world – Africa, Asia, South Pacific, and the Americas.  Many of these brave missionaries gave even their lives for this cause.

Even the evolutionist, Charles Darwin, was astonished of the power of the Gospel.  When he learned of the life transformation of a ferocious people called the Fuegian tribe, who would kill any white men who dared set foot on their island.  He wrote, “I could not have believed that all the missionaries in the world could ever have made the Fuegians honest.”

Every Christian, especially young people, should read these stories.  It will make an impact for the good.

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” John 8:12

Peter mentioned that these stories would make a great short film series!
