“Oh give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth forever.” Psalm 107:1

Autumn Lake Watercolor – with photoshop paint daub filter

I am thankful for many things, but mostly for the things money cannot buy:

Quiet times with my granddaughter, Juliet. And being there to see all her many achievements gained in her first year of life.

Special smiles from my mom, who is bedridden with Alzheimer’s.

My husband’s sense of humor, even through difficult times.

My family and the love and laughter we share.

My Lord Jesus and His love for me.

Thanksgiving Centerpiece

A new friend, Jane Jordan, from the Women in the Visual Arts meetings, put together this pretty centerpiece for a recent meeting. I always love decorations using natural items. Here, she used curly lettuce leaves as a base and placed colorful gourds on top. A green Styrofoam cone, decorated with real autumn leaves attached with sticks, was used in the center of it for height. The leaves were prepared, so that they will stay fresh and colorful for approximately 3 to 3 1/2 weeks, by using an ironing board. Waxed paper was put on top and under the leaf. A towel was put on top of the waxed paper and then ironed. Then they were left to cool, before removing the leaves from the wax paper. A thin stick was glued on at the base of the leaves so that they can be attached to the cone.

I pray that you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving time with your friends and family.
